School Uniform Policy

The School Local Advocate Board (LAB) have agreed the following uniform requirements, which apply to all pupils.

We believe that wearing a school uniform helps promote a sense of belonging, equality and pride in our school community. We ask that all items of clothing and footwear are clearly named.

If alternative clothing is required on medical, health or religious grounds, parents/carers should make a written request to the Headteacher.

School Uniform

• Blue school sweater or cardigan, preferably featuring the school logo

• Blue polo shirt

• Grey trousers or shorts

• Grey pinafore dress or knee-length skirt – winter

• Blue checked summer dress – summer

• Black school shoes

PE and Sportswear

Physical Education (PE) is a regular timetabled activity.

​

Pupils should bring their PE kit to school in a clearly named PE bag. PE kits can be kept in school so that they are readily available for all timetabled PE sessions. PE kits will be sent home periodically, or whenever appropriate, so that they can be checked, washed and returned to school ready for use.

Please ensure that all items of PE clothing and the PE bag are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

PE kit:

• Blue school PE T-shirt, preferably featuring the school logo

• Plimsolls/ trainers

• Plain black sweatshirt, preferably featuring the school logo

• Plain black tracksuit trousers

• Plain black shorts

Hair:

To maintain a smart and practical appearance:

• Long hair should be tied back using a plain hairband or plain clips.

• Large bows are not considered part of the school uniform.

• Shaved or tram-line style haircuts are not permitted.

Jewellery and accessories:

• Watches may be worn, although they are worn at the owner's risk of loss or damage. We do not allow pupils to wear smart watches.

• Jewellery should not be worn, with the exception of one pair of small stud earrings.

• Stud earrings must be covered with tape or removed for PE lessons.

• Nail varnish should not be worn to school.
