Milborne Port Primary School Admissions
In accordance with the Admissions Policy, parents should register their
child/ren as early as possible direct with Somerset County Council after
receiving their first admissions pack. Details are available at
www.somerset.gov.uk/admissions.

The children are welcomed into school in the September following their
fourth birthday. The children will start on a part-time basis, mornings only,
finishing at 12 noon every day for the first month. Following this, the
school provides full time education and confidently expects most children
to be ready for this transition. However, parents who prefer their
children to continue on a part time basis may arrange this but not for
longer than when they reach compulsory school age.

Good liaison exists between school and the local playgroups. Children due
to start are invited to visit school on several occasions
during the Summer Term before starting school as a positive introduction
to school life. There is also a meeting for parents of the new entrants.
The planned admission number for the children entering Reception Class
at Milborne Port Primary School is 25, however, applications over this
number can be considered by county admissions on a case by case basis,
up to an absolute maximum of 30.
